Dining Chair FF01 / 02
Inspired by the simple Shaker chair, especially the Low Back Chair shown below as well as midcentury Danish designer’s interpretations of the same classic design.
Like all of our furniture, built from wood sourced from our sawyer partner
The frame, assembled with mortise and tenon joinery, is lightweight and strong, so pull it up to the wood stove and lean back all you want.
The curved back is pressed from 7 layers of thin wood and pinned to the legs with brass - as a further ode to Shaker furniture construction.
The seat - woven from twisted papercord made in Townville, NC - requires a skilled craftsperson 9 hours to weave. This is a style of woven seat found on Shaker, Danish and traditional Appalachian chairs.
FF01 Retail Price $1200
FF01 Friends & Family Launch Price $600
It was always the plan to first build this furniture for friends and family, hence the product designation FF. This F&F pricing is limited to the first 20 FF01 chairs.
